TSYC Youth Guidelines
Please read and discuss these rules and regulations for the Texas State Youth Conference with parents, counselors, and the youth at your congregation. These rules were designed for the safety and respect of everyone attending the Youth Conference.
If a youth violates any of the rules and regulations set by the Texas State Youth Conference, depending on the offense, the child may be sent home at the expense of parents after a detailed discussion, review, and evaluation has been completed by the Youth Conference Committee.
· Each youth must bring a Bible
· All youth must wear their badges at all times. (Upper left shoulder)
· All youth will be under the guidance of a counselor.
· All youth (male and female) attending the conference WILL HAVE a counselor. Males MUST HAVE a male counselor and females MUST HAVE a female counselor, otherwise they will not be accepted.
· All youth are expected to be in their rooms by the designated curfew time.
· Report all lost articles to the Registration table.
OFF-SITE
· No youth will be allowed to leave the premises without written consent from his/her counselor.
· Before permission can be granted to leave the premises to visit a relative or friend, the counselor MUST HAVE the following information of the person visited:

CONDUCT/BEHAVIOR
· DISORDERLY CONDUCT – such as fighting, profane language, playing on elevators, running up and down stairs and hallways, being disrespectful to adults, talking out of room windows, WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
· The use of alcoholic beverages, drugs, smoking, or any other vulgarities WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. Violators will be subject to disciplinary action from the Texas State Youth Conference committee.
· All participants are to respect authority.
· Destruction of property is prohibited.
· Youth are not allowed in members of the opposite sex’s rooms, unless under the supervision of a counselor.
· If a youth becomes ill and unable to attend a class session, he/she MUST report their illness to his/her counselor. The counselor will take the necessary steps for their care and is advised to remain with the sick youth until recovery.
ATTIRE
· Shorts may ONLY be worn during Friday activities and Saturday “free time”. The shortest length must be knee-length. Any youth violating this 3 inch rule will be escorted back to their room to change.
· All clothing should be appropriate. Clothing should not have vulgar wording or graphics.
GIRLS
· Can wear pants or skirts to all sessions. Skirts or skorts may not be more than 3 inches above the knee. Any youth violating this 3-inch rule will be escorted back to their room to change. No halters or midriff tops may be worn at any time.
BOYS
· Mesh T-shirts or tank shirts must be worn with a T-shirt underneath.
· Shirts must be worn at all times.
· Extreme beards, ill-groomed facial hair and extra long braided hair are not considered in good taste.
POOL RULES
· A counselor MUST be present at the pool site monitoring their youth at all times.
· GIRLS – No two-piece, thong or bikini swimsuit will be worn. A one-piece bathing suit MUST be worn.
· BOYS – No thong or Speedo will be worn. Swim trunks MUST be used.
ALL RULES WILL BE ENFORCED.
